What is Renewable energy?
Renewable energy, the type of energy that are produced through natural resources that are replenished and not depleted because its excessive uses. Like Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity and store it in batteries for future use. While this process sunlight lights are not depleting and the same time it does not release any type of harmful gases in the air, that’s why solar panels are the prime example of renewable energy or you can say clean energy source.
There are 3 key features of Renewable energy
- Replenishable: The core feature of renewable energy source is, that are replenishable by short time, like wind.
- Depletion: Renewable energy can’t be depleted by its uses. It is available unlimited in the nature. Like Sunlight, Wind.
- Environment Friendly: The most significant feature of renewable energy is they do not release any type of harmful gases in the air while producing electricity.
Type of technology that use to produce renewable energy
- Solar Panels: Solar Panel is a technology that use to generate electricity through sunlight and store in batteries that can be used for future purposes. Sunlight is available unlimited in our environment and can’t be depleted by its uses. We just need the area to install the solar panel and batteries to store the electricity. Solar panels can be used by a household or industrial level both.
- Windmill: Windmill produced energy through the wind by dynamo generator that convert kinetic energy to electrical energy. Windmill mostly stored in deserted and open areas.
- Hydropower: Hydropower plants a technology that produced electricity through water flow.
- Geothermal: Geothermal is the technology to produce electricity through internal heat of earth.
- Biomass: Biomass is innovative technology produce electricity through woods and crops.
Renewable energy is one of the most vital topics for world leaders and every country is aggressively doing R&D and invest more into renewable energy sources. In 2024, the global renewable energy sector shows growth of 15.1% with 4,448 GW capacity. China is the world leader in renewable energy production with the capacity of 1,500,000 MW.

Growth of Renewable energy in India
India is the 4th largest renewable energy production in the world with the total installed capacity of 226.79 GW in comparison of 76.37 GW in 2014. Indian government and private companies are heavily investing and working in renewable energy sectors to make country world leader. In 2024 Indian government have launched Muft Bijli yojna and installed solar panels on rooftop of houses with subsidy cost. The Ambition is to achieve 500GW renewable energy capacity.
Indian Companies like Adani greens and Tata power are the world leaders in renewable energy sector.
