In general, SMEs are smaller than large corporations but larger than micro-enterprises or startups. In India Definition of Small Enterprises & Medium enterprises are
Small Enterprises:-
Investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment Should be up to Rs.10 crore
and
Annual Turnover does not exceed Rs. 50 crores.
Medium Enterprises:-
Investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment Should be up to Rs.50 crore
and
Annual Turnover does not exceed Rs. 250 crore
